I just wanted to let everyone know what is going on with the server list. As some of you know, some of the games we play do not have any sort of query port or ports in which we can check to see if the game, itself, is online. These games will always register as “offline” or “timeout” until the developers gives us a port in which we can check other than UDP.
Some of the games that will give a false-positive is Space Engineers and Interstellar Rift.
You’ll likely also notice that some of our ARK: Survival Evolved servers are down, and this is intentional. We have decided to simply turn these servers off while we have no members using them. If you would like to start playing or continue playing on any of these servers, simply go to the Chapter forum for that game and post on the chapter’s wall the specific server you want turned on. A server admin should enable that server within 12 hours.
The other reason we’re doing this is to combat both griefing and PVP decay. Basically some of you guys, even in different factions and guilds have created some awesome structures that would be really heartbreaking to see lost because some random joined, found your stuff and leveled it. The other reason is simply power/resource conservation on the server itself. Because we own our own server we pay for every Kilowatt hour (that is not as cheap as home/office Kwh’s because the Data Center has to maintain UPS, and diesel generators on-site) and keeping servers turned off saves power (lots of it).
Again, if you guys have any questions about server statuses, just reply here and let me know.
