As some of you know, there is talk that Divine Reapers may be rejoining the ESO scene in March when it becomes free to play. I’m here to confirm that this is true and we are looking for our previous members to establish contact through Teamspeak or our forums for more details. There are may reasons for our guild stepping out of this scene, among the reasons:
- Terrible issues with hacking and cheating
- A complete lack of care or response to hacking and cheating by ESO admins
- New content and better graphics were higher priorities than fixing the current issues of the game
- No balance, exploits galore, and no discouragement from the admins of using these exploits
That is just a few of the issues that we are hoping are resolved by March when the game goes free to play. I know quite a few free-to-play game managers and producers including Richard Smedly, Richard Schmelter over at Sony Online Entertainment and have spoken to each of them in detail about their free-to-play models (and how I deplore them). But the one thing I get constantly from all free to play game producers is that free-to-play is an insurance model for the players that the game will be run correctly and balance will be a necessity because players whom are dissatisfied feel no obligation through monthly investment to keep playing the game. In short, a free-to-play game that isn’t worth it to the players quickly dies and every producer in the industry knows this.
With this I am assuming that ESO has made the same realization and at least have plans to fix the above stated before March when the game is free to play. And if so, we will be more than happy to commit to ESO for as long as it takes.
In the mean time our guild is currently playing space MMO’s, one of which we have grown quite fond of: Elite: Dangerous.
We invite all still-members of our guild to join us in teamspeak and help us establish a player-base in ESO upon our return. We have details ready to be distributed in Teamspeak!
